Ramin Djawadi Composes Medal of Honor Soundtrack

Before the title strikes later next month, the Medal of Honor Multiplayer Open Beta will commence in the first week of October to trigger an exciting gaming voyage. The next installment in the long history of the first person shooter will portray a new battleground in modern day Afghanistan, far away from the World War II scenario.

As gamers prepare for the arrival of this new chapter, EA has announced that Medal of Honor will sport a deep, emotional score composed by Ramin Djawadi. Renowned for his previous work, the soundtrack from this German-born musician is said to enhance the intensity of this action-packed modern warfare game.

“The new version of a landmark game always requires a next-level soundtrack. But this ‘reinvention’ of Medal of Honor demanded a composer who could create an epic score that brings the game into a whole new era. The intuition and skill that makes Ramin Djawadi one of Hollywood’s top young talents in film scoring is exemplified in Medal of Honor. This is an incredibly intense score, and we’re tremendously proud to have him in the EA family,” explained Steve Schnur, Worldwide Executive of Music and Marketing at EA.

According to the composer, the modern setting of the title demanded a unique design for the score which entailed a new stylistic and thematic approach. In keeping with the requirements, the soundtrack reflects a range of sentiments from an emotional orchestra to edgy modern action-based acoustics. This music has been created with the help of various western as well as ethnic instruments.

“Designing a score that captures both the scalpel-like quite professionalism of the Tier 1 Operators and the sledge hammer action of big military has been a unique challenge. The music is designed to dynamically ebb and flow, complementing the big action sequences with thundering electric guitar and bass, and the quiet stealth with haunting strings and hymns. It is like a Hollywood action movie score on steroids,” elucidated composer Ramin Djawadi.
