Just Cause 2 for PS3 to Ship with In-Game Video Capture Feature

Just Cause 2 is the open-world action game from Eidos and Square Enix slated for a spring 2010 release. Earlier we reported that a limited edition for the game had been revealed. Now Square Enix has announced that the PS3 version of Just Cause 2 will ship with an in-built video capture feature. This will allow PS3 players to record in-game clips and upload them directly to YouTube.

Just Cause 2 is said to have some of the most intense and incredible action sequences ever seen in a game. And with the video capture feature, PS3 players will be able to record gameplay directly to the PS3 console’s hard drive and upload to YouTube. What could be seen as a downside though, is that players can only record the last 30 seconds to make a clip.

But available from the in-game menu is a 10 minute capture option. This will allow gamers to create more detailed videos, and it even allows for planned presentations or tutorials. Players will be able to share in-game mission walkthroughs, or create online speed-run competitions. The best YouTube videos will be linked from the official site, so that users can vote for their favourites.

The video capture and upload feature for Just Cause 2 will be available exclusively for the PS3. The game will ship for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on March 23, 2010 in North America, and on March 26, 2010 in Europe, the Middle East, and Australasia.
