Bungie Reveals Halo: Reach Details including Armor Lock, Active Camo and More

If you’re a Halo fan then this piece of news will really wow you! Bungie.net has a weekly update which has revealed some really interesting details about Halo: Reach including Active Camo, Armor Lock, Load Outs, and much more.

Halo Reach

One of the things that might anger ardent fans of the series is the switch from four-shot-kills to five-shot-kills with the Designated Marksman Rifle or the Magnum. This is owing to player shields absorbing any extra damage before being taken down completely. So you’ll need four shots anywhere to take down the shields, and one to the head to complete the kill.

Another thing changed is that Elites are considerably larger and faster than Spartans, and their health and shields recharge significantly quicker than those of the Spartans. This goes to say that in some situations, like Arena, you’ll only have Spartans vs. Spartans and Elites vs. Elites.

Active Camo is affected in two distinct ways. The faster you move, the shorter the time for the effect will be and the more visible you’ll become. Also while in camo you’ll be jamming everyone’s motion tracker. So players in the vicinity will know you’re there, even if they can’t see you, yet. Armor Lock grants a burst of invulnerability, but you’ll be rooted to the ground. While in Armor Lock, you’ll deflect projectiles and can’t be melee’d or assassinated. You deliver an EMP burst while exiting the lock. The downside is that you’ll be a sitting duck, and once you come out of the lock will be an easy target.

Another cool feature is the Jet Pack ability. You can use it to flush out enemies, but will be exposed to enemy fire yourself, being completely without cover. There’s a whole lot more on the official Web site, explaining all the intricate details.
