G.I. Joe is a popular line of action figures produced by Hasbro. EA had earlier announced that it would release a G.I. Joe video game based on the franchise along with the release of the new G.I. Joe movie. EA has now announced a series of exclusive unlockable features for the G.I. Joe The Rise of Cobra game.
The unlockable features will allow G.I. Joe fans access to a ‘behind the scenes’ look at the game’s production, including the unlockable concept artwork and character renders. These features also include 4 classic public service announcements (PSA) from the original 1980’s cartoon series.
There are 75 filecards that can be found throughout the game, these files can help in overcoming the evil COBRA forces. Each of these filecards contains profiles of various COBRA henchmen, G.I. Joe members and information about the game’s explosive weapons, vehicles and play sets.
G.I. Joe The Rise of Cobra, published by EA, will be available for the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, Nintendo DS, PS2, PSP and mobile phones. The video game is slated to release this August, while the prices have not been announced.
