This year at E3, Sony was busy demo-ing their latest handheld game console and the worst kept secret of the gaming industry, the new PSPgo. At Sony’s E3 press conference, a little about God of War III was made known, including a non-specific release date.
The game will apparently be the final chapter in the multi-million unit selling trilogy. So far it is not clear whether this will also be the final installment in the God of War series, or just the trilogy.
In God of War III, Kratos seeks to extract revenge from the other Gods who have betrayed him. Armed with his trusty double-chains and some new weapons which include the Cestus and other brutal instruments, Kratos takes on a host of new creatures, some of which he can ride in order to cross chasms and to fight enemies.
God of War III is to be one of the most graphically advanced next generation titles when it releases and playing as Kratos, PS3 gamers can explore areas which are up to four times as large as in the second game. God of War III is to have stylized realism and combat sequences that are just brutal. The game will also feature various puzzles and a fitting end to the epic story of Kratos.
Developed by Sony only for the PS3, God of War III is an action-adventure single-player game and is scheduled to release in March 2010.
