Mafia 2 to be Unveiled at Leipzig?

This year’s Games Convention at Leipzig was going to have new game announcements, but not many knew that a sequel to the 2002 shooter game would be unveiled over there! GameSpot is reporting that Take-Two will be screening a trailer of Mafia 2 at GC 2007. In fact, Czech website Tiscali Games saw a listing on the German ratings board’s database.

However, it is interesting to note that the ratings are for the Mafia 2 promotional trailer, but not for the game itself. The listing has been pulled from the website of the German ratings board. The unveiling of the Mafia 2 trailer at GC 2007 does not seem to be a rumor as a Take Two spokesperson told CVG to ‘watch this space’, referring to the announcement of their line-up for GC.

Mafia was first released for the PC in 2002 and later ported to the Xbox and the PS2. There is no news on the platforms that Mafia 2 will launch. This is the second time in a month that something like this has happened. You might recall that World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King expansion pack too was revealed in a similar way, as the existence of it was found on a ratings website.
