Rumors about God of War 3 and the sequel to Gears of War have been very, very common. But neither Sony nor Microsoft have come out and said anything about these blockbuster titles for their consoles. According to PSX Extreme, EGM is reporting that God of War 3 and Gears of War 2 could be out in the holiday period of 2008.
In fact, God of War 3 for the PS3 is already under development at the Santa Monica studios of Sony Computer Entertainment America. The development team that is working on the third installment of God of War is toiling so that the game can be released in the holiday window of 2008. As for Gears of War 2 for the Xbox 360, it is speculated that the game was supposed to be showcased at E3 2007 but Mark Rein spoiled the party by stating that there would not be any announcement and instead the PC version of Gears of War was announced.
Of course, Sony and Microsoft both are yet to confirm whether the rumors about Gears of War 2 or God of War 3 are actually true. But if the rumors are true, then gamers are in for the best holiday season in years, as both these games are eagerly awaited.
