Tron was first released as an arcade game in 1982. The game saw players compete in four challenging game types to advance through the levels. Discs of Tron, which was launched in 1983, is a follow-up arcade game that saw gamers fight Sark, the defender of Master Control Program, in one-on-one encounters taking place in three-dimensional ultramodern arenas.

Craig Relyea, VP of marketing, Disney Interactive Studios says, “The ‘Tron’ film has captured the imaginations of video game players and film fans for generations with its revolutionary visuals and action-filled story. The classic arcade games Tron and Discs of Tron are returning this summer through Xbox LIVE Arcade with new features and alternatives for the film’s 25th anniversary.”

Tron and Discs of Tron have been developed by Backbone Charlottetown and will be published by Disney Interactive Studios. The two games are expected to release this summer on the XBLA. Many versions of the game have been made, mostly for the PC. Now, console gamers, especially the Xbox 360 gamers will be delighted to play the Tron games on their machines.
