Developers Bugbear has stated that FlatOut 2 has sold over half a million copies. Not only that, the game has numerous awards like IGN’s Best PS2 Racing Game of 2006 and G4 TV channel’s X-Play’s Best Racing Game of 2006.
Jussi Laakkonen, business development director at Bugbear Entertainment said, “Being chosen as the best racing game of 2006 by two of the most popular game media was a truly exceptional moment for everybody at Bugbear. We did not anticipate the accolades as we were going against a number of great driving games. When the results were published, it felt special. It felt like a real victory!”
Bugbear is presently developing FlatOut Ultimate Carnage for Xbox 360. FlatOut had sold around a million copies and FlatOut 2, it seems, will break that record. Bugbear had also released a free demo version for download.
