Mercenaries 2 developer Pandemic has stated that the game could appear on PlayStation 3 as well as Xbox 360. A Pandemic representative said, “There is a possibility of it coming to Xbox 360. Right now, we have PS3 development kits and it’s on PS3, and there is no announcement, but we’re definitely considering Xbox 360.” The developer has softened its tone on the subject of systems. Officially, Mercenaries 2: World in Flames is still only planned for PS3, but as we can see they are considering Xbox 360.
Mercenaries 2 puts gamers in the role of mercenary taking sides in a conflict over Venezuelan oil. But supporters of existing Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez made headlines recently when they argued that Mercenaries 2 was a form of psychological warfare meant for preparing the American people for a possible attack of Venezuela.
Mercenaries 2 does not have a publisher yet. It is scheduled to be released in the second quarter of 2007.
