If you like mystery and surprises, then this week’s Nintendo Download is for you. Two new WiiWare titles, one VC game and two DSiWare titles make their way onto the Wii Shop Channel and Nintendo DSi Shop. PictureBook Games: Pop-Up Pursuit and Family Slot Car Racing are the titles on WiiWare, The Revenge of Shinobi comes to the VC section, while Brain Age Express: Sudoku and Guitar Rock Tour feature on this week’s DSiWare.
PictureBook Games: Pop-Up Pursuit is a board game set up in a pop-up picture book. Players must use cards which either help them move further or put a dampener on things and set them back a bit. Coins can be used to buy cards, and they also add to a player’s Coin Bonus at the end of the game. Every now and then the Book of Magick is opened causing an event whose outcome is a little uncertain. PictureBook Games: Pop-Up Pursuit is from Nintendo for one to four players and can be purchased from the Wii Shop Channel for 800 Wii Points.
Next up on WiiWare is Family Slot Car Racing, a title from Aksys Games for one or two players. The game features three circuits with multiple and bonus tracks. Players can choose from multiple slot cars, and unlock new courses and cars with a range of grip and speeds. Family Slot Car Racing can be purchased for 500 Wii Points.
The Revenge of Shinobi is up on the Virtual Console. The classic Sega Genesis platform game is a sequel to the arcade favourite Shinobi, and sees Musashi set out to defeat Neo Zeed and his criminal empire. From the forests of Japan to the New York City streets, the platformer challenges players to battle against enemies with Shurikens, a katana sword and quick ninja moves. The Revenge of Shinobi is for one player and can be purchased for 800 Wii Points.
Brain Age Express: Sudoku concentrates on the mathematical puzzle Sudoku as players solve a host of puzzles poised at three different skill levels. Players can use the touch screen to play the game which features an intuitive interface. The latest edition in the Brain Age series lets you train your brain in minutes a day. Brain Age Express: Sudoku is published by Nintendo and is for one player. The game can be downloaded from the Nintendo DSi Shop for 500 Nintendo DSi Points.
Guitar Rock Tour is the music based game for the Nintendo DSi from Gameloft for one to four players. Players can choose between guitarist and drummer, and challenge themselves at some of the most famous stages with their bands. Players can tap the touch screen or press a series of buttons to complete the songs in the game. The explosive tracks list of the game mixes recent hits with rock classics. Users can take a photo using the DSi’s camera and use it on stage to receive goodies. Guitar Rock Tour can be downloaded by redeeming 500 Nintendo DSi Points.
Both Nintendo’s consoles feature parental controls for adults to monitor the content that their kids have access to. New titles are added every Monday to the Wii Shop Channel and the Nintendo DSi Shop.
