Last year in May, we had reported about a new Final Fantasy game for the PlayStation Portable, which was named as Final Fantasy: Dissidia. Now new details of the action game have started to trickle in. Video game news website 1UP has posted information about Final Fantasy: Dissidia PSP that was printed in the latest issue of the Weekly Famitsu magazine.
Final Fantasy: Dissidia for the PSP will not only feature heroes and villains from the Final Fantasy universe but will also include a new-look Tidus and Jecht from Final Fantasy X. Tetsuya Nomura, character designer of the game says, “This project features characters from different FF games conversing with each other, so I was careful that there wouldn’t be a great deal of age difference between all of them. I drew Tidus to look younger than he did in FFX to match the design touch of the rest of Dissidia.”
Final Fantasy: Dissidia will be heavily action-oriented and will include famous confrontations from the games in the Final Fantasy series. There will be two basic types of attacks available at all times, one of which is the assist moves. Also, if certain in-game conditions are met in Dissidia, then special moves will also be made available.
Final Fantasy: Dissidia for the PSP has been developed by Square Enix. They will also publish the game. Fans of the Final Fantasy series can expect more information about the game in August 2008 when Square Enix will reveal more details about it. There is still no information about the release dates of Final Fantasy: Dissidia.
