New PlayStation Credit Card Looks to Reward Gamers for PSN Purchases

A newly introduced PlayStation credit card, which is aimed at providing PSN users with reward points for each of their purchases, can now be applied for by gamers in the U.S. According to the official PlayStation blog, with every use of the card, PSN account holders would earn points that they can later redeem for buying other titles or hardware.

This new credit card will provide gamers with 10X points every time they purchase something via PSN. This applies to both game-related downloads as well as PSN movie or TV episode purchases and rentals. Moreover, this card can also be used for other shopping purposes. In such cases, every deal will be rewarded by a certain number of redeemable points.

Ginger Kraus, Sr. Director of Promotions, Sony America, said on the blog, “The PlayStation Card lets you earn points on all of your purchases, including 10X points on every purchase you make on PlayStation Network. That means you can earn 10X points on each of your game-related PSN purchases as well as PSN movie or TV episode purchases and rentals. EVERY purchase you make using this card lets you rack up points you can redeem for PlayStation games, accessories, and PlayStation Network content – along with other great products from Sony.”

Launched by Sony along with Capital One, this card will rack up 3X points on all PlayStation and Sony purchases at Sony stores and Sony.com. Furthermore, 3X points would also be earned at quick service restaurants, movie theaters and on mobile phone bills. Alternatively, all other deals will receive 1X points.

Upon a first purchase of the PlayStation credit card, gamers will be rewarded with a redeemable PSN code worth 50 USD (approx. Rs. 2,464). It is currently being offered by Sony and Capital One in the U.S.
