Dead Island Console Patch Outed With Gameplay and Interface Tweaks

Gamers who’ve been busy playing Dead Island will now be able to reach a level cap of 60, owing to the new console patch that has been launched for the title by developer Techland. Gameplay and Interface improvements as well as new blueprints for weapon mods are said to be included in this patch which can now be downloaded by PS3 and Xbox 360 users.

Gameplay enhancements that are offered by this download comprise the reduction of infected damage and adjustments to quest XP rewards. Moreover, being infected will no longer stand in the way of players’ attacks, while in successive playthroughs, XP would be awarded for all quests completed in co-op.

Character state from a saved game can now be loaded when using the Start from Chapter option. The ammo-carrying capacity of Purna has been raised by 50 percent. Additionally, players will be able to respwan with more health.

The game’s interface fixes consist of new additions to the item carrying abilities of characters. Gamers would no longer be left without a weapon after dropping the equipped item and healing with a medkit. Furthermore, the loot from dead enemies as been fixed to remain the same for all co-op partners.

Map tracking after death also receives a fix along with zone information in the quarantine zone. The new respawn point selection that will be added by this patch is said to be smarter that the earlier one. In addition, this download would supposedly augment the game’s overall stability as well as its network performance in co-op.

The console patch for Dead Island is now live and can be downloaded by gamers on their PS3 and Xbox 360 systems.
