Now we have word that Sony PlayStation has followed suit and reduced the price of the 80 GB PlayStation 3 model in India by 20 percent. In addition to a one-fifth reduction in the price, the 80 GB PS3 now also comes with 2 free games, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue and Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune.
Speaking on the new prices, Atindriya Bose, Sony Computer Entertainment commented, “We stand committed to develop gaming as a coveted interactive entertainment avenue for the Indians. The high adoption of PlayStation by the Indian consumers will be further fuelled by the new prices and offerings before the Indian festive seasons. The new sub-20K price on PS3 not only positions it as an attractive gaming console but makes it perhaps the best value for money Blu-Ray entertainment device for the family.”
This festive season in India will be a fruitful one, with all current models of the PS3 having freebies and affordable price tags slapped across them. The PS3 has been a highly coveted gaming console since its introduction in India back in 2007 and now the high definition entertainment experience just got more affordable.
