Mad Catz to Relaunch Rock Band 3 with Peripherals

Gamers who are yet to get into the Rock Band experience can look forward to the holiday season, as Mad Catz has announced that it will be re-releasing Rock Band 3 while bundling it with the set of required controllers. These include, a Rock Band 3 wireless keyboard controller, a wireless Fender Stratocaster guitar controller along with a new wireless Fender Mustang PRO-guitar controller.

Wondering what the latter is? Mad Catz claims the peripheral to be a learning tool for guitar enthusiasts which allows them to be trained in playing a real guitar. The company has chosen to skip including the drum set into the bundle and the reason for the same is unknown. The game copy will offer 83 songs for gamers to choose from. Apart from this, users will also be able to download content which is released regularly through the Rock Band library.

Darren Richardson, the President and CEO of Mad Catz, explained, “We are pleased to assume publishing responsibilities for Rock Band 3 this holiday season. Rock Band is the ultimate interactive experience for any music fan, whether they’re looking for a great party game to share with friends, playing through Rock Band’s 3000 plus song library, or seeking out a fun way to learn guitar, drum or keyboard skills using Rock Band 3’s PRO Mode.”

Rock Band 3 was first released by Harmonix in October 2010 for the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, and Nintendo DS. It lets players simulate music using special instrument controllers including lead guitar, bass guitar, drums, and vocals.

A definite re-release date of Rock band 3 and its peripherals has not been confirmed by Mad Catz yet. But the launch is expected to take place somewhere around the holiday season.
