This news about the game’s launch on Facebook comes fresh out of Atari quarters along with the announcement that the RPG is out in the open beta phase for now. Players start off by choosing to step into the shoes of a Dragonborn, Eladrin, Halfling, Human or customize their very own character. From then onwards, let the swords swing.

“Heroes of Neverwinter delivers a high level of depth, polish and authenticity that will fundamentally change the way players think of RPG gaming on social platforms,” explains Jim Wilson, President and CEO of Atari. “Existing fans of the D&D franchise will find the translation compelling in all areas of the gameplay experience, while more casual gamers will find the adaptation accessible and intuitive.”

The title is loaded with more than 50 dungeons to explore and hordes of powerful magical items. Along the way, there are over 30 unique skills to master if players can live through battles involving various monsters numbering over 40. Gamers may even opt to play Dungeon Master and build their own adventures for friends and other players.

Atari claims that Dungeons & Dragons: Heroes of Neverwinter will be the ‘deepest RPG experience’ to reach the Facebook platform. And those who won’t take the company’s word for it can head to the SNS and find out for themselves.
