Fighting games are fun to play on the Wii and Nintendo is trying hard to populate the Virtual Console with such games. This week, they have put the true action-fighting classic Double Dragon on the American Virtual Console. The side-scrolling title was very well received when it was released a few years ago.
Double Dragon was first released on the Nintendo Entertainment System. The story follows, Billy Lee, who is on a mission to save his girlfriend. A group called the Black Warriors abducted her to now the secrets of Billy’s martial-arts style. The game lets players use different fighting techniques along with crates, boulders, whips, bats, knives and even dynamites that can be used to destroy the opponents.
Double Dragon is already up on the Wii Virtual Console and it comes with a price tag of 500 Wii Points. A few months ago, a Double Dragon game was also released on the Xbox Live Arcade (XBLA) by Microsoft.
