We had earlier reported that The Bigs 2 had hit the Xbox 360 in the UK. The second installment in The Bigs series by 2K Sports is now available for the Nintendo DS. The sequel is an arcade baseball game which includes the likes of Prince Fielder of the Milwaukee Brewers as its spokesman and cover athlete. He is the MLB All-Star first baseman and 2009 Home Run Derby champion. This is the first time players will be able to experience Bigs-style baseball on the portable console.
This version of the game is specially fashioned to exploit the unique characteristics of the Nintendo DS. Gamers can throw fastballs, hit spectacular home runs and make defensive plays all by using the stylus and touch screen capabilities of the system. The Bigs 2 offers players great power-ups along with the ability to throw Big Heat fastballs and crush Big Blast home runs to lead their team to victory.

With addictive fun and easy to pick-up-and-play controls, The Bigs 2 provides an amazingly entertaining baseball experience for fans and casual gamers of all ages,” commented Greg Thomas, senior vice president of sports development for 2K.
The title includes the traditional Home Run Derby mode where gamers can test how powerful their batting skills are. Fans of the franchise will be delighted with the popular Home Run Pinball mode which is also incorporated into the game. Players can hit the oncoming ball into various objects such as Las Vegas windows, parked taxicabs and billboards. The score depends on how many targets are hit.
Besides the Nintendo DS version, The Bigs 2 is also compatible with the Xbox 360, PS2, PS3, PSP and Wii. The exact pricing of the game is not disclosed by the company.
