Atlus USA have announced that they have attained the North American publishing rights for ‘Knights in the Nightmare’. The game spans quite a few genres requiring players to use all of their multi-genre knowledge to overcome something really different.
An ancient castle called Aventheim was situated in the middle of a placid lake. Without provocation, ghastly creatures from another world poured out of the heavens and massacred the entire population of the castle. A wisp was then set free from within a forgotten church somewhere in the middle of the woods. This wisp stirs up the souls of the dead knights and leads them back to the castle, where they battle the very monsters that had killed them.
Knights in the Nightmare combines various elements such as RPG and shooter elements into one innovative game. Players can enlist the services of the ghosts of various different knights and sacrifice their souls to each other to merge their powers making better and stronger army units.
Knights in the Nightmare is an original game and is expected to be released on June 20, 2009. The game is developed by Sting, an independent Japanese development house and published by Atlus and is intended for the Nintendo DS. Knights in the Nightmare will retail at about 34.99 USD (approx. Rs. 1,700).
