LocoRoco 2 available for PSP in North America

Sony Computer Entertainment America or SCEA have announced the release of LocoRoco 2 across North America exclusively for the PSP. LocoRoco 2 is a sequel to the 2006 game, LocoRoco, which was extremely popular. It was highly regarded for its artistic graphics and novel tilt-and-roll gameplay. LocoRoco 2 invites players to tip the game world in order to guide the ‘LocoRoco’ through its environment.

LocoRoco 2 lets up to 4 players close-by, to play the game utilizing wireless ad hoc play. There is also an assortment of unlockable expeditions and bonuses such as stamp sheets that players can use as PSP wallpaper.

Gameplay in LocoRoco 2 is relatively simple utilizing the PSP’s ‘L’ and ‘R’ shoulder buttons. The game includes stamp collecting mode and the MuiMui House, a customizable playhouse containing scores of collectibles through the course of the game.

The previously defeated Moja army boss flees to his home planet to organize another wave of attacks to try and conquer the LocoRoco planet. The boss and his mother have a new weapon, a song that sucks the souls out of living creatures and they are coming to take over the LocoRoco planet.

Game director of the LocoRoco franchise, Tsutomu Kouno, was always mesmerized by oil and water in classic toys. He brought this fascination to the gaming world with LocoRoco. The game’s 2D world is carefully balanced with versatile physics to give the fluid blobs very realistic movements.
