Following the launch of Grand Theft Auto III: 10 Year Anniversary Edition, Rockstar Games has announced that Max Payne will arrive on iOS and Android platforms. This version of the classic title will come equipped with new features such as HD graphics, high-resolution textures, Social Club connectivity as well as user-customizable touch controls.
As far as iOS devices are concerned, the game will be compatible with the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod touch 4, iPad 1, iPad 2 and the new iPad. It is supposed to hit the App Store this week, on April 12. On the other hand, the title will be outed through Google Play on April 26. The list of supported Android devices is yet to be revealed by the developer.
“We’re pleased to announce that Max Payne Mobile will be available exclusively for iOS devices on Thursday, April 12th, with the Android version launching two weeks later on April 26th.The full classic Max Payne PC experience, Max Payne Mobile has been optimized for both iOS and Android devices and features HD graphics, high-resolution textures, Social Club connectivity and user-customizable controls,” read a post on Rockstar Games’ official blog.
Remedy Entertainment was the original creator of this video game which was initially outed for PC in 2001. The same year, Rockstar Games ported it to the PS2, while other developers also managed to create versions for the Xbox, Game Boy Advance and Mac. The third edition to the series is all set to release this May.
Gamers will be able to download Max Payne on their iOS devices from April 12 onwards, while its Android version will go live on April 26. The pricing of the game hasn’t been disclosed by the developer.
