Hot on the heels of the recently concluded actual event, THQ has gone on to announce the development of the WWE ’12 WrestleMania Edition which is slated to arrive in Europe during May, 2012. This new game will complement WWE ’12 which was released by the publisher in November, 2011.
The WrestleMania Edition of WWE ’12 will proffer gamers with a range of free downloadable content released till date. This includes The Rock, who’ll be made available as a playable character. Moreover, three WWE Hall of Fame inductees will also enter the downloadable roster in the form of Shawn Michaels, Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler and Jim Ross.
And then there’ll be former WWE Greats such as ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage, Trish Stratus and Batista. The current personalities who will be available as DLC with the WrestleMania Edition of the November release include the likes of Mick Foley, Brodus Clay, Michael Cole, Brie Bella, Nikki Bella, Vickie Guerrero, Kharma and Alicia Fox.
Apart from all this content, four alternate attires – Road Warrior Hawk, Road Warrior Animal, Edge, Christian, will also be doled out in the form of downloadable content. WWE ’12 was launched for the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii last year, and contains both single-player as well as multiplayer offerings. Developed by Yuke’s, it is the first game in the entire series to have been crafted exclusively for the current generation of consoles.
As of now, the WWE ’12 WrestleMania Edition has been announced only for Europe, and will be outed for the PS3 and Xbox 360 in May. The pricing of this title is yet to be confirmed.
