Apart from a DRM free copy of the title, the Unholy Edition will also include a free Steam gifting key, the game’s soundtrack, a poster as well as a 40 page ‘Devzine.’ Developed by Merge Games, this one revolves around a boy named Isaac who flees to his basement on realizing that his mother is hearing the voice of God demanding a sacrifice be made to prove her faith. But eventually, he finds out that in this basement, he’ll be forced to come face to face with monsters, dungeons, lost brothers and sisters and his mother.

Dieter Schoeller, MD of Headup Games, commented, “Through our partnership with Merge Games to cover many more territories we are making at least sure that we are not the only ones going to hell for publishing the meanest, darkest and most unholy edition of The Binding of Isaac.”

This game is said to kick in over fifty enemy types that are placed in randomly generated environments. It also comprises more than 100 items that provide powers to the character, while also changing his visual appearance. Over twenty bosses, a number of unlockable classes and multiple endings are some of the other features which make their way into this title.

The Binding of Isaac – The Unholy Edition is yet to receive a price tag, but it has been confirmed that the game will be released on March 16, 2012.
