After having been launched for the Xbox 360 last month, Kinect Sports: Season 2 is all set to be greeted with a new DLC which is now available for download via Xbox Live. Dubbed as Challenge Pack #1, this add-on is first of the many monthly updates that will be released for the game in the future, according to a post on Major Nelson’s blog.
One new Challenge Play activity for each of the six sports offered by this game is comprised in this DLC. These can be accessed by players from the Quick Play and Challenge Play options in Kinect Sports: Season 2. In Baseball, the Frantic Fielder challenge will debut with this add-on. It will require gamers to field a large number of balls from a lineup of mascots, thus testing their hand-eye coordination and speed.
The Smart Shot activity for Darts will introduce mathematical puzzles that need to be solved while playing the sport. In Football, the new Crazy Kicker challenge will involve gamers trying their hand at 40-yard field goals, while being cheered by the crowd and mascots. Furthermore, the Champion Chip activity in Golf will test the chipping abilities of players on different surfaces, distances, and with natural obstacles.
Skiing in Kinect Sports: Season 2 will also receive a new activity in the form of Cool Ringings, which would involve dodging mascots and ringing cowbells for extra points on five different courses. The Rapid Returner challenge in Tennis will have gamers returning a variety of unusual serves delivered by mascots.
This new DLC for Kinect Sports: Season 2 can now be downloaded for free through Xbox Live. It has been announced by the game’s developers that more such add-ons will be made available for the title every month till spring 2012.
