Company of Heroes 2 Headed for Early 2013 Release

THQ recently made public that its upcoming title, Company of Heroes 2, will be arriving for PC sometime during the start of next year or ‘early 2013,’ as the company puts it. The game is set to take players to the ‘frozen frontlines of war’ in Russia against a full-scale invasion from Germany on the frozen tundra of the Soviet Union.

Developed as a sequel to the Company of Heroes title, this new release is said to focus more on brutal and devastating conflicts which took place on the Eastern Front. Throughout the game, players will have to fend off the Nazi invaders from breaching the gates of Moscow. To do so, they have to take command of the Red Army. There’s also a host of new Commander Abilities for lending a helping hand.

Designed based on the Essence 3.0 engine from Relic Entertainment and the TrueSight system, it proffers better visuals, much detailed graphics, dynamic battle tactics and new environmental destruction. The original game was first launched back in 2006 and has managed to achieve quite some popularity. All events in the sequel take place during 1941.

The Company of Heroes 2 release date is scheduled for an early 2013 launch and it will be available for PC. Price details aren’t disclosed as of now.
