The much-requested mode will allow players to delve into a multiplayer environment, either working to stop the advance of Napoleon, or competing against each other to best his achievements. Three theaters of war from Napoleon’s career, Egypt, Europe and Italy, will be available right out of the box in 2-player turn-based online games.

“Following all the great feedback we’ve had from our fans for the Empire Multiplayer Campaign Beta, we’re proud to announce that all three campaigns in Napoleon: Total War will be multiplayer enabled,” Mike Simpson, Creative Director at The Creative Assembly and creator of the Total War franchise, said. “We’d like to thank our fans for all their support.”

In addition, there will be another exciting multiplayer option, Drop-in Battles. When starting a Single Player Campaign in the game, players will be asked whether or not to allow Drop-in Battles. When turned on, this option enables a player’s opponents to be controlled by an online adversary, in real-time.

The Campaign Multiplayer in Napoleon: Total War was made possible partly due to the success of the Campaign Multiplayer Beta for Empire: Total War. Feedback from players was positive and the beta is still ongoing.
