R.U.S.E. Announced by Ubisoft

It seems everyone wants to have a title that is somewhat of an acronym! A few months ago, we had F.E.A.R., which was successful and even spawned a sequel. Now we have Ubisoft, who have sent word about R.U.S.E., which is a new intellectual property. The strategy game is expected to be out for the consoles as well as the PC.

Elliot Garbus is the VP for Intel Software and Services Group and GM for Visual Computing Software Division. Garbus says, “Ubisoft and Intel are demonstrating some of the benefits gamers will experience when playing R.U.S.E. on the Intel Corei7 processor based platforms. Gamers will experience more immersive game play with smooth zooming from satellite to ground view, superior AI delivering more complex unit movements and more realistic physics throughout the game.”

John Parkes is the marketing director for EMEA at Ubisoft. He commented, “With R.U.S.E., Ubisoft is once again shaking up a genre, offering an RTS with a twist that will thrill gamers. Ubisoft is known for innovation and R.U.S.E. continues that tradition, offering the most immense and detailed maps ever seen in an RTS. Players can explore the maps using Iriszoom Engine, which provides an aerial, smooth interaction unlike anything ever seen before.”

So what exactly is R.U.S.E.? Well, the unique real-time strategy game not only allows the gamers to bluff their enemies to lead their nation to victory, but also provides an innate interface, as it uses the exclusive Iriszoom Engine. It offers smooth but rapid transitions from a birds-eye view of the entire conflict and all down into the heat of the battle as well as vice versa.

R.U.S.E. is being developed by Eugen Systems, the same people who worked on games such as Act of War: Direct Action, which was a strategy game. The game is expected to be out on the PS3, Xbox 360 and the Windows PC platforms in fiscal year 2009/2010. Ubisoft has informed that R.U.S.E. will be optimized for the latest Intel processors.
