The newest game in the Command & Conquer series will be heading to the PlayStation 3. Initially, they had put PS3 version of the strategy game on hold but a few weeks ago, Electronic Arts confirmed that the game will be hitting Sony’s current generation console.
Now EA has sent word that Command & Conquer Red Alert 3: Ultimate Edition for the PS3 will be out in March this year. This edition is expected to have five exciting new multiplayer maps along with making-of videos as well as trailers. Also, there is the PS3 exclusive Command & Conquer TV programming, in-depth profiles of the units and the Red Alert 3 OST.
David Seeholzer is the Development Director at EA Los Angeles. Seeholzer commented, “Our team has been dedicated to bringing the RTS genre to console gamers and we are excited to have this opportunity to introduce PS3 owners to Command & Conquer. The PS3 is a very powerful platform, and the additional time we have had in development has helped us create the ultimate console RTS experience, with improved graphics, improved performance, a ton of extras and some nice exclusive perks that cannot be found on any other version of Red Alert 3.”
Though EA has pointed out that Command & Conquer Red Alert 3: Ultimate Edition for the PS3 will ship in March 2009, there is no word on the exact release date. The game has been developed by EA Los Angeles and has already been released on the Xbox 360 and the PC platforms.
