“You don’t see too many perfect games thrown in MLB 2K, but we’ve seen it happen,” Jason Argent, vice president of marketing at 2K Sports said. “Our goal is to celebrate and highlight Major League Baseball 2K10’s superior pitching and hitting mechanics this season, while also giving one of our loyal fans the thrilling opportunity to be rewarded with a lot of money.”

“Every baseball fan knows pitching a perfect game is one of the most difficult and rarest accomplishments in all of sports, and that’s what makes this million dollar contest so compelling,” Evan Longoria, All-Star third baseman for the Tampa Bay Rays and cover athlete for Major League Baseball 2K10 remarked. “This is the chance of a lifetime, and I’m excited to see fans really try to go for it in Major League Baseball 2K10. I just hope they don’t try against the Rays, because my teammates and I aren’t going to make it easy on them.”

The million dollar contest begins March 2, 2010 at 12:01 am PST, and runs for 2 months, up to May 1, 2010 at 11:59 pm PST. To compete in the contest, gamers must play in the MLB Today mode, and select from any of the available games, choosing to participate in the ‘Major League Baseball 2K10 contest’. This will automatically set the default gameplay settings which are in accordance with the official gameplay rules.
