Earlier this month we had reported that NBA Elite 11 would dribble into the gaming scene by Autumn this year. The game is set to incorporate a new control scheme and real-time physics. Now EA further discloses that the cover of NBA Elite 11 will be adorned with the Oklahoma City Thunder small forward Kevin Durant.

The 2010 NBA All-Star athlete is regarded as the youngest player to head the score count in the recent season. He also had a hand in leading the Thunder to a 50 win season as well as a NBA Playoffs berth. Durant has many accolades and accomplishments attached to his name during his short professional career.

“I’ve always been a fan of EA Sports. This has been an exciting year for me and the team, and capping it off with being on the cover of NBA ELITE 11 is cool,” revealed Kevin Durant.

According to the company, he is picked second overall in the 2007 NBS Entry Draft. Furthermore, the talented athlete will represent USA at the 2010 FIBA World Championships which is scheduled to take place this summer in Turkey. He is also looked upon as the third player to grace the pack of both an NCAA and NBA licensed product with the former being the March Madness 08.

“Durant is a game changer,” shared Jordan Edelstein, VP Marketing, EA Sports. “There has never been a player his size with his skill set, and there has never before been a basketball videogame like NBA Elite. Just like we see Durant as the future of the NBA, NBA Elite 11 represents the future of basketball videogames by providing a gameplay experience you simply won’t find anywhere else on the market.”

NBA Elite 11 offers Hands-On Control for one-to-one responsiveness corresponding to the player’s actions on court. This innovative control scheme is being employed for the first time in the upcoming basketball video game. Through this new inclusion, players can perform offensive and defensive moves such as dunks, fadeaways, drives to the basket, blocks, mid-air adjustments, steals and dribble moves.

NBA Elite 11 is currently under development and is expected to unveil into stores by October this year. There is however no official word on the exact pricing or release dates of the game.
