Earlier we reported that Madden NFL 10 would be coming in August of this year. Now we have word on the cover athletes. Electronic Arts says that Pittsburgh Steelers safety, Troy Polamalu and wide receiver for the Arizona Cardinals, Larry Fitzgerald will feature on the coveted Madden NFL 10 cover. This will be the first time in the history of the franchise that two athletes will be featured on the cover.
“Larry Fitzgerald and Troy Polamalu are exemplary examples of the epic battle between offense and defense in the NFL,” Senior Product Manager Anthony Stevenson stated. “Madden NFL 10 showcases the Fight For Every Yard, and nobody fights harder than Troy and Larry, making them the perfect athletes to grace the cover.”
Larry Fitzgerald is only the second athlete to feature on both the Madden NFL and NCAA Football covers. He has led the Arizona Cardinals to Super Bowl XLIII and his focus and athleticism can change the face of a game. Two-time Super Bowl Champion, Troy Polamalu is known to frustrate the opposition and with his quick reactions and experience can stop plays, shutting down receivers. He was instrumental in the Steelers’ Super Bowl XLIII victory.
The game uses the all-new Pro-Tak animation technology which makes players fight for every single yard till the final whistle sounds. Gamers can launch three to nine-man tackles and can fight for a fumble even at the bottom of the pile. The version of the game for the Wii home video game system from Nintendo is built from the ground up and will feature quick and exciting game modes.
Madden NFL 10 is developed by EA Tiburon and published by EA Sports for the Xbox 360, PS2, PS3, Wii and PSP. The game is scheduled to be released in August but prices have not yet been announced.
