Initially we had joysticks and keyboards that gamers used to play the video games. Of course, after that we had racing wheels and more recently we saw Nintendo come out with its Balance Board. But now Electronic Arts (EA) to could come out with sports peripherals for its video game titles.
At the Paris GDC, David McCarthy from EA pointed out in a question and answer session that gamers can expect EA Sports games to come with bundled peripherals within the next twelve months. He explained, “I think you’ll see games using that Rock Band peripheral strategy from EA Sports, even within the next 12 months.”
David McCarthy also mentioned that Electronic Arts would only put a peripheral with the game if it will not raise the barrier of entry and accessibility for the gamer. That is considerate on McCarthy’s side as many gamers were put off by the high prices of the Rock Band peripherals. However, he has not revealed about the platforms on which EA would get these sports peripherals.
