The PS Vita might be making gamers smile back in Japan, but with about two months to go for it release in other territories, all we can do is feast our eyes on the launch lineup which was unveiled yesterday by Sony. A post on the official PlayStation blog states that a total of twenty five games will be available for the Vita on day one, with their prices ranging from 9.99 USD to 49.99 USD.
Sony’s very own publishing wing will be doling out eight high profile titles on launch day. These include the much anticipated Uncharted: Golden Abyss, wipEout 2048, Little Deviants, ModNation Racers: Road Trip, Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational, Escape Plan, Super StarDust Delta and Hustle Kings, with the latter three coming only through PSN. Moreover, around the release window of the handheld, games like Gravity Rush, MLB 12 The Show, Reality Fighters and Unit 13 would also be outed by Sony.
And it’s not only the parent company that is expected to the grab the limelight, as various third party publishers including the likes of Square Enix, Ubisoft, Namco Bandai Games and EA will also be making their presence felt on day one. Army Corps of Hell, F1 2011, FIFA Soccer, Michael Jackson The Experience, Rayman Origins, Touch My Katamari, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 and Virtua Tennis 4: World Tour Edition are just some of the games coming from other publishers.
Furthermore, during the release window, Lego Harry Potter: Years 5-7, Ninja Gaiden ∑ Plus and Supremacy MMA: Unrestricted among others would be outed by third party publishers. Apart from this launch lineup, buyers of the PS Vita will be able to enjoy various augmented reality games with the help of the six AR Play Cards that come bundled with the device. A voucher would enable gamers to download various such mini games through PSN. And these titles are slated to be made available a week early for those who will possess the First Edition PS Vita Bundle.
The PS Vita, along with its launch lineup of games is scheduled to hit store shelves on February 22, 2012 and is now available for pre-order through select retailers.
