Earlier today we reported that Eric Lempel disclosed that with the latest PSP firmware update v6.20, Digital Comic Reader would be added to the XMB on the portable console. Although the PlayStation Network comic service is due to launch on the PlayStation Store only next month, comic book fans can espy a free issue of Star Trek: Year Four – The Enterprise Experiement.
According to the official PlayStation blog, this latest free comic book issue is released by Sony’s partners at IDW Publishing. To acquire this copy, PSP owners have to simply download the free Digital Reader and go to the PlayStation Store via the PSP. They have to then enter a promotion code which is as follows: 724K-A4BG-JLD7.
Players will receive another free digital comic in the form of ‘Transformers: All Hail Megatron #1’ by entering the promotion code EC2N-9HBR-HJD6. The promotional codes are valid only till December 16, 2009 and redeemable only on the PSP and not via Media Go or PS3.
The PSN Digital Comic Store plans to unveil in the United States by next month.
