3D Dot Game Heroes to hit PS3 in May 2010

There are a lot of games that manage to induce a nostalgic sigh from gamers everywhere for their retro-style graphics painted in a 3D environment. The official Sony PlayStation blog cites that Atlus is set to release 3D Dot Game Heroes for PlayStation 3 across North America on May 11, 2010.

In 3D Dot Game Heroes, gamers are thrown into the role of a hero who has undertaken the quest to save his people from an evil demon at the command of his king. Adding a colorful tidbit to the plot is the legend of a hero who once saved the kingdom from a threat akin to the present one with his powerful sword.

Players will progress through the quest in an expansive landscape dotted with undiscovered caves, dungeons inundated with puzzles and fascinating NPCs to converse with. Sony claims that the game will deliver a blend of advanced visuals with 8-bit music and sound effects. What it does not have is excessive tutorials, hints and quick tips to nudge players in the right direction.

Atlus affirms that 3D Dot Game Heroes will be fitted into just one Blu-ray disc and comes tagged at $39.99 (approx. Rs.1,858). Those eager to lay their hands on a copy of the game may pre-order it from the official 3D Dot website.
