Though Sony might be struggling a little bit with the PS3, it has managed to do well with their handheld gaming console, the PlayStation Portable. However, there have been some complaints here or there by the PSP gamers! But now Sony has promised that there will be increased PSP support in 2009.
John Koller is the director of hardware marketing at Sony Computer Entertainment America. He spoke to Edge Online and explained, “I think going into next year we are going to see significant growth. We are counseling retail to be ready for it. We have a number of very strong franchise games on the docket that will be launching next year.”
Koller mentioned that Sony hasn’t gone public with those but said that even third-party developers have not gone public as they are focusing on the holiday period. The SCEA director stated that they have several strong titles coming up. A few weeks ago, Shuhei Yoshida from had said that they found the PSP negligence by third party disappointing.
