PSP Piracy is Decreasing: Sony

Sony has been battling piracy from the time they introduced their first games console. But they had been particularly concerned about the piracy issues plaguing their handheld gaming console, the PlayStation Portable. But now Sony has revealed that the piracy on the PSP is decreasing.

John Koller is the head of hardware marketing at Sony Computer Entertainment America. He spoke to the MTV Multiplayer blog and explained:

“We have made really no secret (that there) certainly has been some piracy on the PSP. We’ve seen that as a significant issue, it’s trending down right now, we have seen the piracy not be as such prevalent in the last month to two months. But it has been a problem for us.”

Koller also explained that there has been a good versus evil battle on the forums and the piracy websites. According to the executive from SCEA, many consumers are standing up for the rights of developers and publishers to make money on their intellectual property.
