Sony Speaks About LittleBigPlanet PSP

Back in April this year speculations arose that the platformer from Media Molecule, LittleBigPlanet, could be on its way to the PlayStation Portable. Many were looking forward to the game coming to the portable handheld gaming console. Now Sony has spoken on LittleBigPlanet PSP.

John Koller is the head of hardware marketing for Sony Computer Entertainment America. The MTV Multiplayer blog got in touch with the Sony boss about the LittleBigPlanet PSP rumors. He gave this explanation on the telephone:

“LittleBigPlanet is so expansionary. I think the developer’s really concentrating on right now making sure that the launched product is everything it could be and can be. We are watching the UGC (user generated content) and seeing how that’s playing out. But for the future, I think certainly, we’d look at a wide variety of opportunities. Whether that’s the PSP or not, I can’t really say. We certainly look at LittleBigPlanet franchise as a going forward franchise for us, and that speaks to the PlayStation brand overall.”

LittleBigPlanet was launched last month for the PS3. It has been developed by Media Molecule. The action game was well received by the gamer as well as the critics. As for as the other games such as Guitar Hero and Rock Band for the PSP, Koller pointed out they are of huge interest to them.
