Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus headed to PS3 this holiday season

After having been outed by leaks, Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus has been officially revealed by Sony to be Insomniac Games’ new project, aimed at hitting the PS3 this holiday season. The game is being described as a completely single-player affair, with its story having been aimed at Ratchet & Clank, and the former’s personal story arc. It will be made available through retail as well as via PSN at 29.99 USD (approx. Rs. 1,790).

Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus

On the official PlayStation blog, Insomniac has conveyed that it is ‘excited’ to announce the return of the series. With Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus, the developers will be exploring the roots of the series’ story, meaning that it will act as an epilogue to the Future games that include Tools of Destruction and A Crack in Time. And this new game is being developed under the creative direction of Brian Allgeier who was in charge of the same two titles.

A trailer for Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus has also been released. It showcases a number new weapons and gadgets that will be making their way into the game. James Stevenson, who’s the community lead for Insomniac Games, has mentioned that gravity is one of the main themes which is being explored through Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus. Thus gadgets that help the characters defy gravity will be making their way into it. Brand new Clank puzzles will be infused into the title as well.

There’s no definite release date for Into the Nexus as of now, but it has been confirmed to have been slated for a holiday season launch on the PS3.
