GTA San Andreas, Vice City headed to PS3?

GTA San Andreas as well as its predecessor, Vice City have been spotted on new listings released by ESRB. For those wondering about the latter, yes, this game is being rated for the PS3 – as spotted by PlayStation Lifestyle – for the second time and the reason for the same is unknown. It first popped up through ESRB in January this year along with GTA 3 which has made its way to PSN already.

GTA San Andreas

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is an original PS2 game, and was first released for Sony’s console in 2004. The following year, it made its way to Xbox and PC, and is now available through Xbox Live, Steam and Games for Windows Live for respective platforms. 2010 also saw the title being made available for Mac.

While the game proved to be a bit controversial due to its content, its massive success cannot be doubted. And it is even noted for several innovative features that it introduced to the open world sandbox gameplay pioneered by its predecessors. Since it is to be coming for the PS3, gamers might expect Trophies to form part of its offerings. But, just like GTA 3, it is more likely to launch without the said trait as it will probably be doled out as a PS2 Classic.

Rockstar Games is still to announce it officially. The developer is currently busy creating one of the most anticipated games of all time – Grant Theft Auto 5. While little is known about this upcoming title, a supposedly leaked poster of it suggested recently that it might be out during the spring of next year. A full reveal of the game is planned for this November.

We’ll have more on it once we receive any concrete information. Meanwhile, GTA San Andreas and Vice City might very well be warming up for release on the PS3 sometime soon. So fans can keep their fingers crossed.
