Pure Chess Makes a Move to the PS Store Today

Fans of the centuries-old board game will soon be able to checkmate their opponents without having to let go of their PS3 and PS Vita systems, as Pure Chess is all geared up to launch today via the PS Store. This game has been crafted by Voofoo Studios, the same developer who brought us Hustle Kings for the PS3 and PS Vita.

The title contains a tutorial to help gamers who’ve never played chess before, get a hold of the game. Everything from basic to advanced techniques will be available to be learnt through this feature. Moreover, it contains a total of ten difficulty levels, with the top ones having been verified by a chess Grandmaster. While single-player experiences are on offer for gamers, there’s multiplayer matches also available to be played with friends and family.

Apart from local two-player game, players can also indulge in asynchronous Play by Mail games. This way, they will be able to make their moves and send them over to their PSN friends, and get on with their work until the other players send their moves back.

Pure Chess will be made available through the PS Store today for the PS3 as well as the PS Vita. Its pricing hasn’t been confirmed yet.
