The Unfinished Swan Ready to Splash on PSN with PS Move Support

Adding to the number of artistic titles making their entry into the downloadable arena, The Unfinished Swan has been revealed by debut developer Giant Sparrow to hit PSN with PS Move support. In this first-person adventure, players will be seen assuming the role of a young boy named Monroe who is chasing after a swan that has wandered off into an unfinished kingdom.

The Unfinished Swan 1

This title is being described as a first-person painting game which begins in a totally white space. Gamers then start throwing globs of paint in order to explore the world around them. A swan has stepped out of a painting and has drifted off into a strange and unfinished world. Monroe is chasing this swan, as he colors parts of the world he finds himself in.

“One of the biggest challenges we had was figuring out what the game was going to be about. The idea of painting a white world is pretty abstract. You could make all kinds of different games about that. A lot of people who saw it a few years ago assumed it was going to be a horror game. And it totally could have been. But after splatting stuff for a few months we realized what we liked most about it was the sense of wonder it created. We liked not knowing what was out there,” said Ian Dallas, Creative Director, Giant Sparrow, on the official PlayStation blog.

This indie studio has revealed that it shares the same kind of relationship with Sony which Journey maker thatgamecompany did. Under this ‘incubation deal,’ Sony provides the developer with funding, office space, equipment and advice, so that the main focus of the studio remains on the game.

The Unfinished Swan is yet to be bestowed with an official release date.
