Those incorrigible gaming buffs who manage to let go of the PS3 and take a stroll only because of a PSP in the jacket pocket have reason to cheer. Sony has announced a ‘PSP Remaster’ title series which are essentially games originally for the portable unit optimized for the PS3.
The games will include HD graphics and new features like operability on the PS3 wireless controller, support for stereoscopic 3D and new add-on content. The saved data from a PSP original may be used for the reworked one and players can drop off one gaming unit and move onto the other while continuing from where they left off. What’s more, ad-hoc mode gameplay will be accommodated via the ‘adhoc party for PSP’ app on the PS3.
It was a very good day indeed when companies awoke to the idea that compatibility of content across devices is one way of keeping people hooked onto their products or services. Japan will be the first to get a ‘PSP Remaster’ game with an HD version of Monster Hunter Portable 3rd by Capcom.
