We’ve been cooling our heels long enough and finally the time has come, as games such as Resistance 3, Dead Island and the likes gear up to hit the PS3 this week. The official PlayStation blog has announced in a post, details regarding all the anticipated games that will make their way to Sony’s console this week.
First up, it’s the 3D and PS Move compatible Resistance 3 which is set to release in the U.S. tomorrow. The narrative of this FPS begins where events of its predecessor ended. During the 1950s the Chimeran invasion is at its peak and Sentinel Joseph Capelli is forced to set out on the perilous journey from Oklahoma to New York City. Multiplayer modes in this title include two-player online or split-screen co-op through the single-player campaign alongside a new progression-based multiplayer.
Also lined up for launch tomorrow is an open world title, Dead Island. All hell has broken loose on the picturesque locales of Banoi Island as it has mysteriously been infested with zombies. The four protagonists are the island’s only hopes to fight off the threat of the undead. Furthermore, for those who want to experience the Uncharted series before going for the much anticipated third edition, there’s the Uncharted: Dual Pack which kicks in Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. It will be out in the U.S. for the PS3 tomorrow.
Moreover, there’s Driver: San Francisco which will also be launching tomorrow in the U.S. It’s the third edition in the Driver series and involves both John Tanner and Charles Jericho form the previous titles. Another big release this week is Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine. Said to combine ‘intense melee’ and ‘ranged combat,’ this game takes place in the fictional settings of the Warhammer 40,000 universe. A fresh new RPG named Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten would also be available for purchase tomorrow. Anime-style graphics and a new game system are the traits gamers can look forward to in this title.
There’s the usual PS Store update which will bring with it games like Bloodrayne Betrayal, Astro Tripper, Megaman 4, Rugby World Cup 2011 and Skydrift. Demo versions of God of War: Origins and Supremacy MMA would also be released through PSN tomorrow.
