LittleBigPlanet 2 Seemingly Confirmed, Details Revealed

LittleBigPlanet is the puzzle platformer from Sony and Media Molecule. What’s special about the game is that it gives players the chance to create their own levels and customise practically everything in the game. Now if information on the NeoGAF forums is to be believed, the June 2010 issue of Game Informer will not only confirm the sequel LittleBigPlanet 2 for the PS3, but also have some juicy details about the game.

Apparently in LBP 2, players will get the option to create not just levels, but entire games. That’s right! Entire games! Players/creators will be able to build shooters, racers, puzzle games, plus RPGs, and according to the forums, a Media Molecule developer has even made a Command & Conquer clone.

The level of freedom to create stuff in this game will exceed anything seen. Players will be able to customise an HUD as they see fit, like a health bar, and assign commands to the PS3 controller buttons. Even the sixaxis functionality can be incorporated into gameplay.

If that isn’t enough, you can even record your own sounds and voice and assign these effects to characters or objects. You can also make your own cut-scenes, with camera angles and voice-overs included. To top it all off, you can tweak the AI for an enemy also called a Sackbot, and you can choose weaknesses, like make it scared of heights and such.

There’s a little more information on the forums about levels in the game if you want to read it and spoil all your fun. Oh, and apparently, all DLC from LBP transfers to LBP 2.
