Penguin United to launch Eagle-Eye for PS3 at E3 2010

Most video game players seem to prefer a keyboard and mouse when playing first person shooters. Hence, taking initiative, Penguin United has announced that it has created the Eagle-Eye which converts a standard USB HID keyboard and mouse into a charged up controller for the Sony PS3 console. The innovative device is scheduled to be launched at E3 this year.

The Eagle-Eye Converter has a customised key mapping feature for all PS3 controller buttons that transfers command data to the keyboard and mouse. Using the Eagle-Eye Converter device, first person shooter titles on the PS3 can be played with greater accuracy and dexterity.

“One of the drawbacks with playing first-person shooters is the lack of speed and accuracy offered by traditional controllers,” said Richard Huang, President of Penguin United. “We found a simple solution by bypassing the controller and transferring the button features directly to the computer keyboard and mouse. The Eagle-Eye offers an amazing alternative for fans of shooting games.”

The Eagle-Eye Converter gives 1-to-1 translation of the right analog stick to mouse movement and is compatible with all games, not just shooters. The mouse sensitivity can be adjusted through the game’s option menu. The device connects to the PS3 system via a two-foot USB connection and comes with programmable macros. It is even compatible with all PS3 console versions and future proof with firmware updates.

The Eagle-Eye Converter is pegged for a suggested retail price of 59.99 USD (approx. Rs. 2,820).
