PlayStation Network Service Back on Track

The PlayStation 3 console graced the scene back in 2006 and is noted to be the third gaming system fashioned by Sony. On August 2009, the company offered gamers a new redesigned model of the console with an upgradeable 120GB or 250GB hard drive.

Recently, the PS3 system that unveiled prior to the slim unit faced a dilemma. However according to the official PlayStation blog, that problem has now been amended and the PlayStation Network Service is up and running once again. The internal clock functionality found in older PS3 systems faced a vital issue. It mistakenly acknowledged this year namely 2010 to be a leap year.

The tweak was fixed by adjusting the internal clock date directly to March 1 from February 29 across both GMT. With this amendment, the symptoms have been sorted out and allow players now resume normal use of their older PS3 consoles.

The blog also cautioned that if the time on the XMB is still showing a wrong date, gamers themselves can alter the time settings either manually or through the Internet.
