Sony Computer Entertainment Europe announced that they will be launching the all new wireless SingStar Microphones. These mics give you the freedom to move around while performing like a real rockstar. SCEE offered community members a chance to try out the wireless microphones and give them feedback. In the feedback, almost everyone rated the new mics as “excellent” or “very good”.
Dave Ranyard executive producer of the SingStar franchise comments on the response: “We’re excited with the community’s response to Wireless Mics. Now SingStars can enjoy their experience wire-free – and test them out with the exciting launch of SingStar: Pop Edition along with hundreds of new tracks in SingStore. We’re looking forward to seeing your brand-new wireless videos at My SingStar Online or www.singstargame.com.”
The new SingStar Pop Edition includes hits from various artists such as Robbie Williams’ Angels, Chris De Burgh’s Lady In Red, The Killers Human, Sugababes’ Girls, The Script’s The Man Who Can’t Be Moved and many more. The entire list looks something like this:

Another exiting new feature is the Voice Control function which can only be used with the PS3 and is available with the SingStar Pop Edition. This feature lets players choose the song they want to sing by saying the song’s name instead of using the PS3 controller to pick the song.
The new wireless mics are compatible with both the PS2 and the PS3 and come with enhanced high-quality sound. They will be available in stores in the UK on March 20, 2009. The statement from SCEE also says that the “SingStar Pop Edition hits stores in April.”
