As part of the one year anniversary celebration of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Konami announced that it will carry out ‘Metal Gear’ updates and announcements all throughout the week. Hideo Kojima’s latest work has garnered appreciation from his peers by winning several awards including Game of the Year.
The stealth-action game has the player assume the role of Old Snake. The final installment in the series has him combating a nanomachine control network called Sons of the Patriots (SOP). Snake also has to prevent his arch nemesis, Liquid Ocelot, from taking control of SOP. In the latest adventure Snake travels to South America, the Middle East and many other places as he makes his way behind enemy lines while using stealth to avoid detection at all times.
The gameplay has a few new additions like the Psyche Meter and a third person view while the character is equipped with better equipment like the OctoCamo camouflage suit which makes Snake virtually invisible and the Solid Eye which is used for reconnaissance.
Developed by Kojima Productions, Metal Gear Solid 4 was released worldwide on June 12, 2008. The game is priced at USD 29.99 (approx. Rs. 1,430) and is available exclusively for the Playstation3.
